1 day ride

160 or so mile ride today. Started out in the morning, nice cool weather. Visited family that live toward Lake Erie, with my Mom's birthday just around the courner. Couldnt fit her gift in the saddlebags, so the entire time the gift was bungee corded to the "bitch seat". Had to be so careful not to break it each time I swung my leg to mount/dismount .

Rode back late afternoon. A little warm with full leathers, but a great ride

Back from GLVROC Rally

Just returned from a week camping and bike riding at the first annual Great Lakes Vulcan Riders Owners Group. We met at one of the members' camp grounds where we had a great section of field that overlooked the lake. Most of the members opted to tent camp as it would fit on a bike. Myself, as I arrived a little early, decided to trailer the bike so i could have more creature-comforts.

On Saturday, a group of us took a ride around Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio. Here is a shot of a stop for gas and some water. Then we made our way to a covered bridge for another couple of photographs, and on through a state preserve of grand trees. All in all, the ride was around 150 miles of some great views and Central US sightseeing.

Each night, we retired to Lugnut's camp , started a fire, and sat around telling stories and having a few brews. A great way to end a wonderful day after a good ride.

The Patient Survived!

Surgery actually occurred on Saturday when I dropped the bike off. They must have had an openning or a no-show. Given good weather and an acceptable workload, I should be able to run up to theils and get Kermit and bring him home. All will be right with the world again!

My baby is having surgery

Kermit (My Green Nomad) is having surgery today - the right air shock is not holding air, and has to be replaced. A relatively easy process from what I understand, but still, the bike is going under the knife (or screwdriver as the case may be). It caused me to miss Saturday's poker run, but should make the bike ready to go for the GLVROC rally in two weeks!
